Bar Goby Diet

Hi everyone. I have a pair of bar gobies that hide pretty much 24/7 unless its feeding time. BUT, when I feed spectrum pellets, they spit it out. Mysis shrimp they don't even touch. Seaweed on a clip they don't go near... The only way I get them to eat is by taking seaweed and rubbing it in between my fingers in the water to get little pieces to float around. Lol. I've been doing this everyday for the past few weeks. My concern is that everything I read about them says they are carnivores, and one is very skinny.

Will they be OK only eating seaweed? I'm guessing no. Anything else I can try to feed them?

I have tangs, clownfish, and a six line. I've noticed no aggression between them, and when they do come out my other fish don't even look twice at them.

Zebra Barred Dartfish (Ptereleotris zebra)
The fish you have are creating an issue. You might not see it happening but it's happening. The Sixline Wrasse is probably the bully, but it could be the clowns or even the activity of the tang.

I'm getting 5 Zebras on Monday. Their habit is hanging out together at the top of the water column.

In some cases large active fish, such as tangs, can intimidate dartfish just by swimming around. Sixline wrasses can also be aggressive toward fish added after them.

If the gobies are coming out for food, but only eating the small nori "crumbs", try a smaller meaty food such as cyclopeeze or reef plankton. They also do better in larger groups so adding a few more may help too.
