barebottom w/ deep sand bed refugium? has someone has set-up like this and does it work great, what are your thoughts? because i took all my sand to go bb. and is bb better? what do you think?
IMO, bare bottom is the way to go! You could try and do a DSB in your fuge, but test for nitrates and phosphates on a regular basis. Let us know your results.
In general, remote DSBs are considered unlikely to help much unless they are close to the size of the main tank and there's enough flow in the display to move the detritus to the DSB.
