Well, my little O. Viridis is finally in his new home 9or at least a temporary castle, until my Mantis Hotel (segmented 55 gallon) gets set up.
This is my first attempt at aquaria, other than catching crayfish and the occassional catfish or bass left over from some fishing trip bac in Arizona (my dad would bring smaller fish home for our tank).
The baron was IDed by one of Dr. Roy's assistants at Octopus Garden in Berkeley,Ca (I am in San Francisco), btw...
These pics are stills that I cut from my sister's camcorder from an excursion to the Octopus Garden a few weeks ago.
He has an interesting checkerboard pattern on his back, and his legs/eyes are yellow (my favorite color, so I just HAD to get him).
I named him after that colorful character out of recent legend (and the subject of 2 fine, if wierd films) due to his silly 'mustache'...well, all mantis look to have a silly mustache, but still...
Without further ado....may I introduce The Baron von Munchausen...
Er...Edit.
It seems that RC doesn't like jpegs. Until i get this sorted, here's a link to my 'other' online home...damsels beware, it's a predators forum...
