To much time - just because you can't do this and do your real work at the same time - you need some training - LOL.
I'm using CorelDraw right now. I also have Canvas that I had used for years and I really like. I missed a few software updates and now it's more than what I'm willing to spend so I switched to Corel and now like it.

Now that's a smart move - recycling the water. New part to add to my tank layout! GenX - are you happy with it, have you used these in the pass?

Well I just looked it up and it has 3/4" for the input/output, did you go with 3/4" completely or use a coupler to increase the size? I have a Quiet One 4000 that I'm not using and it's rated about the same - I might use it until I upgrade everything. Guess I'll have to think on this one. I heard the GenX is loud - is that true?

Carol, I reread the thread and missed one of your questions.
The RO/DI water will supply the bottom barrel for mixing and a reservoir behind the sump for ATO. It will be a MaxiJet 600, controlled by a 12 volt relay, switched by two float switches. One switch will be a low level normally off switch. The other will be a high level normally on switch. Either switch being in the wrong position will turn the system off. Redundant protection. If all that fails, I have a 1 inch bulkhead plumbed from the sump to the outside for overflow protection. It's about 1.5 inches below the top of the sump.

I see how you have it configured. I really like the overflow protection system. I had so many floods in the house - one big problem is my 75g tanks refuge (Container that holds the containers) has a leak. My power went down for 5 - 10 mins the other day and did what it should have - over flowed into my reserve area but that is where the hole is located. BIG flood and it took every towel in the house to clean that one up. I am lucky in that I do have tile foors - if I didn't I would have now! I'm getting the refuge rebuilt now for the 75, later it will be reused on the larger tank.

I forgot to ask you - how large of a reservoir for your ATO do you have?

Hi poknsnok - I was looking at that but if it mixed at all it would be very little. I've being going through his design real closely because I think I'm going to mix his design with the other designs. It looked like maybe a foot or so where the tee is going into the pump and then splitting out of the pump area. So minor it's not like it would spike his salinity levels.
I think the only thing right now would be changing the bulkheads to a uniseal. FireFighter has the uniseals in his design and like he said - for the curved material it would be the best. It's just finding them locally, but if I have to mail order that is't a problem. I could just get lots of them and then I'll have them when we're doing the barrels - might have to do that.

I agree.. with a 20 gal ATO and a 500 gal system it would have no effect... sweet designs all the way around. a float switch controlling the fw feed to the ATO resevoir would be sweet. you would have to have a relay wired from the feed pump to the ATO resevoir... That would truly be automation. ... My next house will be built around the tank so I can do al this cool stuff..

I'm doing a complete remodeling of my house and so I get to add this into the design. It will be in-the-wall with all the equipment in the garage. The room it will be in isn't that big and I have three art studios within my house, so I was told I could have it but no living space taken. I can design my dream tank within that requirement 
.
I have to remove and repair the wall that the tank will be built into so why not! I wanted to wait a few years because I just got my tanks running real good, but because of the wall repair it really wouldn't make since to wait.
It will be a year project any way and I just started the basic sketches so - OK a year and a half. My planning i think will take three months and then slowly start ordering items.
