Just discovered the great barrier reef marine park authority website- has a great image database, dozens of great shots of tridacnids- www.gbrmpa.gov.au
Yeah, Im going to be going back to Lizard Island next May...look forward to seeing all the neat stuff inculding, from what I remember, a multi-hundred year old giant clam that is over 6 feet wide!
Last Semester I did a Study abroad on the GBR. Almost all of my labs were spent diving. The Molluscan biology class was awesome. I was able to see some of the most amazing clams!
