Bartlett Anthia Shortage?

I've been looking to buy some of these for the past 6 months. My LFS used to keep a couple tanks full of them, but they said they have been unavailable lately and can't get them in anymore. Finally after 6 months they got only a small handful of them in and jacked the price up an extra $30 from before. I only occasionally see a trio listed on Divers Den and they are gone as soon as they are posted, they are never in stock at other online retailers either.

Anyone know what is going on with these guys?

It has been my understanding that collection in certain areas is "seasonal". I've been wanting to add another 3 to my pair of Bartletts but haven't really come across any.

A couple of weeks ago they were popping up in trios on LA/DD but more recently it has been carberry anthias. Most LFS can do a special order from their supplier to, but it might take longer if they are not as readily available. Still probably better than waiting though.

Also I know most stores around me will let you come take them straight from the suppliers bag to your house without touching the lfs tanks. Can be nice and reduce stress of recapture.

My local store has has lots of lyretails recently. Haven't seen any Bartletts for a while. They'll probably come around when you decide you no longer want them!

They had 50-60 at one of my wholesalers last week

Probably some seasonal element to the supply chain. There was a glut of all types of anthias over the Summer, but also some disease issues. Perhaps this part of the reason as well?

They are readily available from Marshall Islands shipments. I haven't noticed a shortage or change of supply from wholesalers lists.
