Bartlett Anthias in a 500 gallon reef

Tank is finally up and going and I'm now looking to stock some fish. I would like to get a bunch of Bartlett or Dispar Anthias and curious on how many will be too much. Anyone know the magic numbers?

There really is no magic number. I'd buy all females. Bartletts have a tendency to turn male, but as long as they turn together it can minimize the conflicts. In a 500, I'd shoot for 7.

if you plan on adding other Anthias in the future go with Dispars, they aren't as aggressive. Bartlett's are beautiful but one of the more aggressive towards other anthias.

So after more research I did decide to go with the Dispar Anthias because of the temperaments. Thanks all.

Id say no problem with 20 dispars in a 500. Granted it also depends on other livestock.

Make sure u buy a lot more than u need cuz there will be lots of die off in QT unfortuneatly. Lots of anthias have been coming in with urema lately
