So, I've had this slimer for several months. The tank is relatively new, it's only about 7 months old. I have a Idaho Grape monti cap that bleached and I thought it died, but I left the frag in there and 2 patches of new growth with polyps have shown up. My Miami Hurricane chalice also has shown new growth and has started to grow over the rock frag. Long story short, everything seems healthy since my tank has stabilized.
Anyway, my slimer has shown good growth. It too has started to grow over the rock with new polyps and I see new branches starting to form. However, the base of the slimer is brown. The polyps are still a bright green and I do get good polyp extension. Is this okay to leave as is? Is the base supposed to be green as well? It sits about 8-9" under a ati sunpower 4x24 in a relatively high flow area. I want to fiddle with placement but I'm afraid of it bleaching. I had a blue acro in there that was healthy with great extension but after playing with placement it bleached and died. Any help is appreciated. I want to make sure the current sps I have in my tank are stable and doing well before I add more.
