I'm just wondering if base rock is available to most hobbyist's at local stores or do most people have to order it online?
My LFS carries it and it's only $1.50 a lb. The best part is hand picking every piece!
Also, has anyone ever heard of lace rock? They also sell that, but say it's a very specific form of lava rock that doesn't contain harmful metal that can leech out. Their display is full of it and seems to be fine.
