base rock?

I used lace rock and picked it up at a local landscape supply yard. Looked just like my live rock in two months.

Well, shoot. I liked their rock. Check on eBay for base rock, nikonosis. You should find a few.

i looked on ebay, i couldn't find any. Hirocks is the one that used to sell it on ebay and they haven't sold anything on there since january.

I was going to use that stuff but I found out its not calcium based and I would really like rock that is calcium based.

Just look around on RC for someone selling their live rock! I just bought a ton of base rock (partly dried coral, looks really nice!) and fiji LR from someone in my area. Try oceanproaquatics.com. They have a "Hawaiian Waterfall base rock" that is pretty nice.

people selling live rock in my area always list it in our club forum and when they do, there is 4 local fish stores here that always buy all of it and then resell it for $9/lb.

Post a "WTB" add.. then people selling LR in your area will PM you. That way, you might get first-dibs on some LR before the lfs can snag it! $9 a pound! That is outrageous!

one of the stores around here sells their live rock for $15/lb. $9lb here is cheap...
