Just thought I would let everyone know that I found some pretty nice Tufa Base Rock at Broadway Aquatics. Its bright white and extremely porus and it's just under $1 a pound. I know not to buy the Tufa Rock that are brownish colors and such because they contain alot of Silica and stuff not suitable to the marine tanks, but this stuff is pretty nice. It rises the alk levels and such , so it does buffer in the tank. I bought a few pieces a few weeks ago and threw them in my tank to see how they do and so far I Like it . I think Im going to buy alot more and seed it with a few pieces of regular live rock. I like the look of it over the regular live rocks which are getting to be pretty dense every where I have been looking. Just thought I would share this information, or if anybody knows something about the White Tufa rock that I dont, Please share.
