Basic Powerbar question.

I own the unit but still have not played with it.

Do all the powerbars have to be connected or does the Controller send out a wireless signal to the powerbars, thus letting you have Powerbars plugged into different sockets?

ONLY to the S port not L port, never attach a power bar with anything else other than the supplied cable and into the S port
