Basket Star???

I would not recommend it, friend of mines bought one and really went above and beyond to try and keep it but was unsuccessful. He spot fed it all different kinds of suspension type foods and nothing seemed to work.
IMHO, it's one of those animals best left in the ocean.

I'd also say pass. Honestly, haven't really heard any other success stories than iamwhatiam52 has had. Congrats on the continued success BTW! :)

Maybe basket stars are the new acros. In the late 80's it was impossible to keep most stoney corals, now most reefers do. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Be a pioneer! ;)

The trick with crinoids is that they are strictly filter feeders. Some species are also known to be picky about what they filter out as food. Even if you come up with the right foods, you would need to be very dedicated in keeping basket star fed.

I've heard that they can be kept at cooler temps and do quite well. Anyone have any experience with that?

I'm setting up a subtropical tank, will keep it at 65*

It really depends on what the exact species is and where it comes from. Keeping a tropical species at subtropical temperatures would not be good.
