Battery back up without a tunze safety connector

I have 2 Tunze 6105's and dont have time before the hurricane comes to order in a Safety connector for easy hook up to a sealed car battery. Can I connect it without the Tunze connector? Thanks for any advice.

Yes, but there is a risk, the safety connector has a fuse and some protection circuitry to prevent damage to the pump, a direct connection is possible, but carries risk.

Run an inverter on the battery.

While less efficient, since you convert DC to AC and back to DC again with the pumps power supply and lose power to heat at every step, it would work and is safer as the power supply has all the required safeties.
