battery backup option

Hi Roger what are my options to battery backup a
7095 + 2x 6101 combination. Current power supply is 24V jumper.
I would be happy with just one powered or both if it is easy to hook up.

Can you tell me if the 7095 would also be on backup power or not

The controller is powered by the pumps, if the pumps have power, the controller will have power. You would need a safety connector 6105.500 for each pump you intend to run and they will run at reduced speed on a 12V battery, figure each AH of the battery will run the pump for about 45min. Typically when the power switched to battery if the 7095 is connected it goes into feedmode as a result of the brief interruption while it switches to battery power so the pumps will be off for a few minutes before they restart.

I'm going to piggy-back on this post....

Roger, what is the lowest GPH Tunze pump that can be operated by a battery backup without a converter (will run on direct DC from a battery)?

I am not sure when the cut-off is, I know my old 6100's can not run directly off a battery.

Logzor Probably one of those 6055's nanostreams that are controllable they are DC pumps..

Roger, I have two 6101 pumps so if just use one 6105.500 to power one would not affect the other pump right?

The 6055 is the smallest DC pump.

Yes, you could just run 1, but you would want to run a program on the 7095 or disconnect it in an emergency so that the one working pump stayed on. For example if you ran a 6hr interval you could have 6 hours where the backed up pump is not running.

I use interval 2 so that one of the pump is always on at minimum.

I am not sure how much movement do I need though. at the minimal 12V on 1x 6101 do you think it is enough to provide oxygen for the fishies?

Is there a switch on the 6105.500 box so I can turn off the pumps easily?
