BC 29 with Skimmer question

I have had my skimmer in my 2nd chamber with the media basket for about 3 weeks now. I still dont have this thing dialed in. It seems like once I get it dialed in it works for a few days then after a water change, or adding water, or water evaporating, it stops working. Then when I add fresh or salt water to the tank it fills up the back chambers too high and I have to siphon water out all the time.

Is anyone else having this trouble? I thought if you added to the tank it would stay in the tank and not fill the chambers up anymore.

Any advice?

What skimmer are you using?

All of you evaporation will take place in the rear 2nd and 3rd chambers, the main tank will always stay at the same level whether you add water, remove water, or it evaporates.
