Be careful when fragging.

So I spent about 2 hours tonight at the Vandy emergency room getting stitches in my hand from an incident with my stainless steel bone shears while fragging my green stag up this evening. The coral was very thick at the bottom (1/2" or so) and I was pressing as hard as I could to get them to cut through the coral. The shears managed to pop off the base of the coral and cut into (through at the tip) my finger. Six stitches later I'm as good as new. I just never thought that fragging would send me to the emergency room. Hopefully my experience will save one of you a trip. Please be careful when fragging.

Glad you are okay. Be more careful in the extreme reef keeping hobby. You know we have sharp tools posionus fish and we mix water and electricity

maybe next time you should try a hacksaw for thost thick corals!

I should have just went and gotten my big Dikes. I was straining to hard to get the coral to snap. Oh well, you live and you learn I guess.

Can you say DREMEL? But then again, those diamond wheels go through skin and bone too. Just stay away from the blue rings.

Yeah, a dremel probably would have been safer. I've neverused a dremel for fragging, but I guess I need to learn. Mikeyjer, the stitches actually hurt worse than the accident itself.

I hate stitches!!! I have over a 100 stitches behind my left ear from an accident when I was 16.
