Hey Guys.. I have a cruise planned later this year and these are the islands we are going to visit.

1)St Thomas
2)Barbados
3)Grand Caymen
4)St Kitts
5)Aruba
6)Curacao
7)Ocho Rios Jamaica
8)Cozumel Mexico

Can anyone recommend beaches for snorkeling?

Cozumel: I snorkelled at Chankanaab (an eco park with a beach), very nice. Also palancar is some of the best diving, and I'm sure there is great snorkeling there as well as many of the reefs are in shallow water. Happy travels and be safe.

Most all of the public beaches have decent snorkeling, but those are two areas that are supposed to be good.

Thanks for the info.. 7 more to go.

If your going to st. Thomas take the ferry from st.thomas over to St. john. Go to Trunk bay. It was voted in the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world. I was just there and did some diving and snorkeling. Snorkled with a Sea turtle and a huge sting ray.

On Grand Cayman, take a short walk east of where the cruise ship drops you off. There isn't a beach, but there is a nice entry for diving/snorkeling with some nice reef at a spot called Eden's Rock. The spots with good beach are short on good reef due to all the sand ;)

I didnt dive St. Thomas but St.john was great! Walk in the water in any bay and you go from reef to grass beds to reef. its amazing how it opens your eyes to reefkeeping, seeing brown staghorns in 25 feet of water after worrying about keeping that species too far at 10 inches from my halides in the past.

Good info guys. In St Thomas I snorkeled at Megans Bay and Coki Beach. Neither were great but there was alot to look at.

Researching online it looks as if its only a 15 minute ferry ride.

Sapphire Beach was my favorite in St Thomas. Coki was good for fish but can get crowded. Sapphire was great to the right point. If you go to St. John by ferry. Waterlemon cay was great. Full of starfish in the cove. 1-2 mile hike by foot. Can rent a small 2 man boat which you can stop at endless locations.
