Bean Animal Drain

I set up my new sump system yesterday and did not have room to put my gate valve on a vertical line. I installed it on a horizontal line and seems to be running okay. Has anyone else installed their gate valve horizontal?

Yes it worked just fine for me when I did that on a previous tank....
