bearing ?

I need to replace a bearing, with the Gen 2 upgrade is that no longer neccessary? Or does that part come with the upgrade kit?

Hi wesheltonj-

The bearing/driveshaft design has not changed on the Gen2. If you have a VorTech with a ceramic bearing and polymer driveshaft, you need only purchase a driveshaft to maintain your pump.

Thanks for the answer, but I am not still clear. Are there any other maintance parts I need, besides the upgrade to overhaul the wet side?

I have one wetside making a lot of noise, think its a bearing as just started and moving it aound in the tank does not stop it.

- Hi Tim,

Does it mean that it only need to replace the polymer driveshaft and no need to replace ceramic bearing after ~18 months used ? :D

Ricky Lee-

The ceramic bearing should never have to be replaced as it does not wear.

wesheltonj-

In the past there have been two maintenance components: the drive shaft and the magnet. Now with the Gen2 pump the magnet no longer has to be replaced, and so the drive shaft is the only maintenance item. As always, we are working on ways to improve or eliminate that maintenance as well.
