Beautiful weather / slow season for reefing

OK. Where is everyone enjoying themselves?

I visited both the Reef Shoppe and Caribbean Forest today.
Hadn't been in quite a while. So I figured today was as good as any to pay a visit. Had the places All to Myself!! Plenty of nice stuff to look at and got
what I needed in the splendorous air conditioning. No competition. No crowds.
It's "Slow Season" now...

Thought I'd stop by the Zoo today since I have not been there in quite a while either. Forgot it was the first weekend of the month and "Zoobilation". So, the Zoo was closed. But hey that turned out to be luck really. Since they gave us Free tickets to return any day we want to when open for regular operation.

So, where is everyone enjoying their sunny-breezy days of summer right now?

I'm thinking of making a Cedar point trip soon (got coaster fever already) as well as 1000 islands and before summer is over, perhaps the Outer Banks.

Anyone going on any interesting summer trips?
Visiting any Aquatic related sites?
How do you plan on your Reefs care during vacation trips?
Are you automated or not?
What are your summer plans and how does it affect or relate to your reefing hobby?

Just curious. Post here to share!

Enjoy the sunshine but stay cool and may your reef continue to thrive.

We do our share of RV camping during the warmer months. This year we have been off to a slow start for many reasons. Starting next month we will be in the full swing of things!

As far as the reef goes everything is on controlers and dosers. ATO tops itself off with RO/DI from the filter. All I need is a dry autofeeder to put on while I'm gone!

This month is the dry-run (I should say wet-run) to make sure everything is properly managed

Camp up at Brennan's Beach all summer. If I'm not home or at work...I'm there. It is slow season for sure. Reefer season will start up around late August. Until then, it's the outdoors for us!

river. Not everybody knows about it. Great spot.

Personally, I don't have a slow season for reef related stuff but I recognize the fact that many people take a greater interest during the winter months.

We have a pop-up camper, so do lots of trips in the summertime.

It also looks like we're putting in an above ground pool.

Lots of hikes with the kids, as well.

Part of my summer includes weekly trips to school to check on things and take care of aquarium maintenance. The reptiles come home with me (my wife cringes, my kids love it).

In buffalo at ARC, there is always someone else in there, but to answer the question, sunset bay beach on the weekends works for me.

Nice guys!

Lets keep this going. Lets here some more from other people.
Everyones interesting summer hot spots and don't forget to include your away from home, plans to care for the reef.

Automated? Or not ?
Friends to watch or Aquarium Service?
It's interesting to get everyones take on things and their maintenance set up / plan.

Fun in the Sun :beachbum:

and may your Reef endure ;)

Doesn't matter what season, there is never enough time to get everything done.

Last two weekends have been SCA events, Hemlock for our Baronial Championships which included Fencing, Archery, Thrown Weapons, Heavy Weapons, Bardic and Arts & Sciences. Lots of fun, camping, sitting around the campfire and just hanging out.

Yesterday was a trip to Buffalo for the "Brass Ring Thing" at the Herschell Carousel Museum. More of the same events, an added caber tossing event and way too much sun involved. Yesterdays archery shoot included scaring the King's tax collector away from a poor peasant, defending more peasants from a band of marauding knights and rescuing a poor chap from savage smurfs.

Many more events to come throughout the summer and right now there is a need to pull out the sewing machine and get making more medieval stuff to wear.

The tank does get it's fair share of time and right now it's past it's initial stocking stage and being allowed to grow.

Weekends we're usually on the boat in the Niagara River or sometimes the lake.

i just got back from Tampa bay, FL. hit the gulf up before it shuts down for a bit.
i had a friend take care of my tank and only got 1 phone call when HOB overflow stopped working.(i will never buy a tank that is not drilled again!) fixed that. came home to find out sump pump in basement quit sunday morning and had 6" of water sitting in my basement. at least it was just rain water. and a fan i had set up to keep my ballast box cool was blowing cat hair into my tank, so now i need to figure out how to get that cleaned up.
