I would think a dc pump would be great for a beckett skimmer and tuning. Surprised the trend hasn't kicked up again. Only issue I have ever seen with a beckett is the general height of the units. Doesn't work for most people.
Jaebo has a pump , i think its a 18000, that has ridiculous head height for a dc pump, 27 foot shutoff IIRC. It would probably do a pretty decent job. And can be run internal. (I think it may have to be run internal). Not sure if it's Apex ready, if that matters.

Thank You. I will look into it. Does the high head height ability and pressure rated mean the same thing?
I have a Jebao to apex connector that does work with my current dct15000, so I am hopeful that the one you refer to will also. Thank you for the input.
Yes. The higher the head, the more power the pump has to push water vertically. I think with a beckett, you want a pump that moves 800 gph at 10 feet of height. It's been a while, the ol brain isn't what it used to be. But if you google something like "recommended beckett flow" you should come across the answer. I think it's in an old thread here on RC

Look over this thread. There's a person on there that's been doing a lot of messing around with the jaebo pumps to see what he can get out of his MTC skimmer. (His skimmer is venturi driven, but the same principles apply) http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2519839&page=13
Mostly in the last half of the thread
