Maybe ya'll will not kick me out, but I would like someone to point me to the selling rules or explain them. I know 90 days and 50 meaningful posts; but what is 50 meaningful posts? Yeah, I can get on here take some nice little pictures and talk about how many gallons of water to change, or suggest some lighting to someone; but I have only been in saltwater for about a year and I do not feel comfortable recommending anything to someone! I know this sounds personal; but when Beerguy edits my selling post and I send him a pm asking what 50 meaningful post consist of and he does not reply it becomes quite frustrating. I do understand folks ripping people off, I would just like to know what I need to do to be able to fully participate? Thanks

Dont fight because it will not turn out good on your side. The rules are not going to change. There is a sticky in the feedback forum on this

Try asking questions as Im sure there is still alot for you to learn. Im not a Mod nor do I want to be I just follow the rules that they set no matter if I agree with them or not

Not fighting it. I understand why the rules are what they are and I do not have problem following them. I just need to know what the rules are and I would expect the edit police to reply to my request so I can play fair. This is a great forum and I learn alot from it and hope to be able to help others someday. Thanks for the link.

just ask 29 more meaningful questions. like joey said, just get 50 posts (not all in one day) w/out you saying stuff like "great tank!", "what is this?", "great pic", stuff like that. once you get on bad side they follow you. browse forums that interest you, find some threads that pertain to your setup, and ask them meaningful questions. might take some effort, but just like having a saltwater tank, you must have patience getting to 50

if you want to know the rules, read the thread joey posted. i have asked mods questions, and them not give me answers. some are better than others. if you get angry, they will reply back and say that they do have a life outside of RC. just read the rules, be patient, you'll get there. if you need something quicker, i'd suggest the newspaper or craigslist

Yea that is a good point. You might not would want to do it all at once but if you did a few and waited a few days that should be OK but you could be on the radar for spamming. You aren't the first one to be bothered by this rule though, I have seen people complain about it before.

Do you have a tank and all setup Justfishin? You could post a pic and maybe a conversation will come up. Ask questions about something, there are some people in the Alabama Reefers that I know are pretty dang knowledgeable and will readily help if they can. I would but I am rusty since I got out of the hobby around 2006 or so.

Thanks everybody for the comments and suggestions. I do want to stress that I am not trying to circumvent the system, I have viewed it alot, especially the chemistry forum since I have some nitrate problems. I just needed to know what 50 meaningful post was defined as. The only thing that upset me was not getting an answer from the moderator that policed me. Thanks again everybody and someday I will hopefully be able to others out.

Ah, maybe that explains why, when you ask a serious question, sometimes you get an absolutely asinine answer from someone who joined last week and obviously doesn't have a clue what they are talking about! And let’s see, how much did that up my number of postings . . .
