Before and after acan

When I first got this acan a couple months back, it looked like this.

About 3 weeks ago it started closing up really tight and seemed to be expelling its intestines between the polyps. I was about to take it out of my tank thinking it had some aweful infection, but I got lazy and left it alone. It amazingly recovered and had completely changed color. It went from purplish with green stripes to solid red with blue mouths!

Anybody else seen anything like this happen???

I have had micros change pretty dramatically, it usually has to do with lighting. my bet is that when it was put in your tank there was a lighting change, the acan expelled some zooanthelle (or however you spell it) and that is how it looks now ... if you ask me yours looks much cooler now.

Im actually on the fence with this one. Ya the colors are sweet how its mostly red like that but the color in the other pic is more uniform throughout the coral and tissue seems to be more defind and ultimately a lil healthier looking. The other shot looks looks like somethings goin on with it. Either it just got finnished eating or its panning out for more light?

I think its under more light now, and I had just added some food so it was trying to feed. Thats why the polyps look weird. And my camera is crappy.
