Behind the scenes!?!?

when are you thinking about doing this and how much would it cost? I'd be willing if the time and price are right

Finally an update!

I was wondering why the emails I was sending to the aquarium was not being answered. I found out that my work was "reviewing " our email traffic and apparently the ones I sent were blocked. Imagine that they wanted us to be doing work on our computers...sheesh, the nerve.
Anyway, after going to the aquarium 4 four times in a week I was finally able to contact the person that can help us out. He said they offer different tours that can be found on their web site, aqua.org . I told him I thought we would be more interested in something that would allow us to see how they make, pump, filtrate, and monitor their sea water, etc on such a large scale. (just as an example) He said they do not offer anything like that BUT if we could give him an idea of things we would be interested in he may be able to put something together. For example if we wanted to see how the sea water is pumped through out the facility we could view that and have the department head speak to us and answer any questions. Then we could move to the next area.

So in a nut shell here's what we would need to make this come together.
-What we would like to see. Who we would like to speak with.
-How many people.
-Date/ time.

We would at least need to purchase an admission ticket. As of now there was no mention of any additional fees.

So with all of that said, lets start getting some ideas going and we can draft an email.

If there are any questions I need to ask please let me know also.

Thanks,
Copper

I would like to do a half and half kind of thing. I want to be able to see the animals and I definitely dont want to look at PVC all day. A "Heres an exhibit, this is how we did it" would be nice.

I am all about the nuts and bolts of how it all works. Love the smell of PVC in the morning. I would like to hear about new technologies they are experimenting with. And just how do they do a water change or when you get that big it is not a problem. Can we get to pet the dolphins? Can we ? Can we? please, please, I'll be your best friend! :)
(Sorry a flash back to a kid I use to know)

Since we are taking family, I think a mix (or at least let the wives/kids go their way and we go ours) would work.

Just so everyone knows... we wouldn't be just there to do a "behind the scenes tour". We would also be able to view all of the displays as well.

They do have a tour that allows you to pet the dolphins but it is very expensive I believe. I think that one is listed on the web site.

lol, can you imagine... they'd be using up skids of Instant Ocean each day! meanwhile the Chesapeake kind of offers a cost benefit ;)

Just bumping up the post to see if there was still interest. If there is, give me some ideas and I will put an email together.
