Belize trip planning

We are planning a honeymoon trip to Belize in November and were wondering what are some good places to stay and dive?

We stayed at Ramons Village, http://www.ramons.com/ , on Ambergris Caye, in Belize for our honeymoon back in May of 2006. We had our own cabana, steps from the water. There is a lot of mixed reviews ( http://www.tripadvisor.com/ ) with this resort, but we had a fantastic time. One thing to keep in mind is you are in a third world country, and most of the hotels and places to stay will reflect that. It is one of the more expensive places to stay on the island, and the food is expensive and not very good, but it is within walking distance from town, which has a lot of cheap and good places to eat.

We dove for 5 straight days with their onsite dive shop. The final day we were able to "bribe" the dive master to take us on one final dive that we would remember, and he took us to some tubes/caves, and it was truely a dive that my wife and I will always remember. We were within arms reach of sharks on every dive and were able to see eels, rays and turtles on almost every dive.

If we were to go back, I would dive with Ramons again, but I think we would find a more reasonable place to stay.

Hope this helps.

I've been to Belize once and am thinking about going back.

We loved the eco-jungle lodges on the mainland for listening/seeing awesome wildlife including birds, howler monkeys, and insects (really amazing!)

We especially enjoyed Duplooy's, and Sam Tillet's place in Crooked Tree bird sanctuary. Kitty's Place in Placencia was really nice, almost a deserted beach and 85 degree water. We also liked Maruba Lodge.

We didn't go to Ambergris Caye as it is the most touristy place in Belize and we were more into the jungle...

i dont think your going to feel crowded in nov.
+ belize is not all that touristy that other places are,
if your a diver stay on sanpedro
if you want a pristine beach with a max of 10 people per 1/2mile
stay at victoria house or on a resort thats on the N side of the island,
-san pedro is not as touristy as its made out to be

Thanks for all the good info everyone we will definetly be staying on san pedro. We are both divers so we plan on doing mostly that, but would also like to do the cave tubing and tour the rainforest.

I hit up on the Aggressor boat. AWESOME time!!! If you are going down only to dive it's great but if you want nightlife/bars this would not work (since it is entirely diving).
