Berghia - aptasia eating nudibranchs

I'm about to order some Berghia Nudibranchs. They are supposed to remove all aptasias from a tank in 3-4 months. Problem is, after the aptasia are gone, they starve.

First, I want to make sure that nobody in the area already has them because I'd love to buy them locally.

Second, I'd like to know if anybody would like to buy some in a couple of months so that we can keep a population in the community and possibly eradicate the aptasia from our tanks.

Thanks, Tim Barrett

Glad to share. They're a bit expensive so I was thinking if selling them for $7.50 each (my cost). I've been reading more about them, and I might try to maintain a culture for a year or so, so that I can reintroduce them if needed. It will take about 3 months to get them to a size that's ready to sell.

Thanks, Tim Barrett

Good luck with them Ive gotten them before BTW they dont ship well and you need to keep them in a small tank right away .

I actually have some in Las Cruces! I have shipped a few out including all the way to New York without an issue. I should have some avaviable in a few weeks. Thanks

Berghia have arrived. Dripping now. They all look healthy. PM me if you would like to get some in the future. I'm going to try to culture a few, and put the rest in my tank. After the ones I'm culturing lay eggs, I'll be ready to get rid of those adults. Then I'll have more when the young grow up or when my tank is full of them.

This is awesome! I am sick of fighting them off with limewater every week. I'd like to snag a couple from you if possible. I live in Hawaii now and am only in town a couple of days.

PM sent.

Replied. If anyone wants some, PM me your contact info and I'll start a list. Should be 2-3 months before they're ready.

I have found that blasting aiptasia with boiling DI will kill it. They are not returning after a week. I use a turkey baster.

I may not be able to get them all, but I can at least get the large ones that peppermint shrimp typically do not touch.

Good luck to everyone. In over a decade of reefing, this is the first time I had a bad case of aiptasia outbreak, and I've learned a valuable lesson. Kill them on first sight!

I haven't seen them since I put them in, but I'm told that that is not uncommon. It is the second or third generation that makes the difference. Hopefully they will eventually decimate my aptasia population and will come out looking for food. At that time I will contact you to give you what you want. I'd like to text if you can give me your number.

I haven't seen one since I put them in. I haven't noticed a decrease in the number of aptasia, in fact there are more. I'm buying two copper banded butterflies today. Looks like I wasted my money on the nudis. Sorry.
