I have an aiptasia eating filefish. He's worthless. Eats regular food along with the other fish and eats nori with my Foxface. I am not willing to starve my tank to get him eating what he was intended for, so he just hangs out. Also have 3 peppermint shrimp. Carefully bought the correct species, as far as I can tell they didn't change the Aiptasia population. What I have found that works: Aiptasia-X, kill them all, then kill the ones that pop up a few days later, then you have a good month before you have to do it again. Stay on top of it and they will eventually lose. Oh, and water changes. An article I read in Advanced Aquarist found that Aiptasias prefer to get a foothold on a piece of cyanobacteria. I am now running biopellets on a good skimmer, GFO, and carbon. Haven't seen cyano in months.
