Hello all,
I'm ordering next week (tentative delivery of next Friday 4/28 - although this date is flexible).
I posted a similar thread a few months ago, and although there were a few people that PMed me with questions.....eventually nobody wanted to get on board. The weather was cold, and I decided not to do an order alone.
Since the last post, my aptasia problem has gotten much worse. I've fed my aptasias kalk paste, joe juice, added a group of peppermint shrimp....all to no avail. It seems like one step forward and two steps back has been the way things have gone.
The darn things are currently growing unabated like a bad hair algae outbreak. I've seen a few tanks with more aiptasia than mine, but not many. If I did a population count in my 55 gallon, it would be surprising. I've always had a few aiptasia here and there, but nothing unreal. However, it seems like I've gone from a long term average of 10 - 20 to several hundred.
Berghia nudibranchs are my next step. There is a ReefCentral member (saltyunderground) that sells these. They aren't cheap like peppermint shrimp (they are $15 apiece) but are supposed to eat aptasia exclusively.
I'm definitely going to order a group of 4 to 6 nudis and see if they are a solution to my aptasia woes. If anyone else wants to get in on the order to split the shipping costs (which will probably be in the $30 - 40 range for overnight) then I'd be happy to oblige. I'm over in Ashland, and of course would prefer anyone sharing the order to pick up, but would be willing to set a meeting time at the Huntington Mall.
Please only send a PM if you are serious about getting a few of these and splitting the shipping an order. If you want to read about the vendor and information about the nudis go to this website.
