Berghia nudibranchs for sale!

I have succeeded in hatching a batch on these little critters and have 6 or so to sell. They do a good job of clearing away Aiptasia, as this is their only food source. I have read recommendations of keeping 1 Bergihia per 10 gallons, but I feel that this is too many. Two or three nudis in a 55 gallon aquarium should be enough to control all but the heaviest Aiptasia infestations within few months. Please note that I did not say eliminate, you will always have a few Aiptasia around. It is also possible, with a bit of luck and plenty of food, that these nudis will reproduce in your tank.

I am selling them for $15 each. I will not be shipping at this time, so pick-up only or we may be able to arrange a meet.

Thanks,

Scott

Also, here are some before and after shots that I posted about a year ago. You can just see the Berghia creeping in just below the base of the Aiptasia in the first pic. There is about an hour between the pics.

I have a 6" Spoted Hawk Fish. He usually leaves Rock critters alone. I heard this these were posions and would kill fish, is that true? Or do you think my fish will just know to stay away. I have a 55gal also, only fish in the tank. Thanks.

Jolu, the Berghias do not have the same toxicity issues as their brightly colored cousins. If you do have fish (ie six line and coris wrasses) that hunt the rocks for food, then you should not consider these as they will more than likely be eaten in a short period of time.

How did you rear them? Do you have an aiptasia tank or do you grow it out to feed, or do you just feed whateve aip is in the tank? I have a 2.5 Gal completely covered in aip...I was just going to start anew and burn them, but... Do you think a mantis would eat them?

hey cschweitzer, I had a big mantis in my 90 and he tore up anemones. I had seen him eat them. Dont know if they regualrly do this, but i wasnt spot feeding him. But i did see him eat numerous ap's in my tank.

Craig, I hatched and grew them out in their own nursery tank, adding aips to it as needed. Not sure how a mantis would do with them, not well I would guess. Are your aips on rock or on the sides of the tank?

Carole, the mandarins should be fine. I don't think they are aggressive enough to tear up the Berghia.

My mantis is in a tank full of aips and not one has been torn down.

Do you have endles supply of aips? How much do they eat at full size? At babies? Maybe I could set up another small tank for it and just feed from my mantis tank.

Do they eat all kinds of aiptasia? I have a problem with the mojano (sp) type......................If they do, i would like one.
Thanks
