Just got my skimmer W/out pump. I want to attach a mag 5 but not sure how to. The instructions don't explain how to hook up something besides Red Sea brand stuff. Thanks for any help!
Thanks for your post. Fortunately, this is a very simple installation. All that you need to connect the pump to the skimmer is to use a short length of 3/4" (inside diameter) vinyl tubing. The tubing should have been included with the skimmer and will fit over the 1/2" MPT outlet of the Mag Drive pump.
On a separate note, we have found that the Mag 7 or the Mag 9.5 will work better with the skimmer. However, if you have a fairly high organic load, the Mag 5 may work just fine.
