... because they won't do external overflows, is there anyone else within 8 hrs driving distance that builds large Starfire tanks?

Its a long term project. I'm deploying to Afganistan next year but when I get back...

I'm thinking 96x48x24, external overflows, inwall, two sides visable. I may still go a little wider. This will be in our new house.

You could always have them build the overflows and then silicone them on yourself... I think the main problem with the external overflows is transportation...

Nick my ultimate goal is to go with two of those tanks the exact same dimensions you mentioned, but Im gonna go with DIY plywood

this is like 15 years down the road though, assuming Im still into the hobby

I concidered doing plywood, however every large plywood build thread I've read kinda goes the same way... "Yes I'm glad I did it" "Would I ever do it again, no" "Did I really save any money, no not really"

I'm not afraid of a good DIY, I built my current tank, but I think I'm going to play it safe on this one.
