it may depend on the companies policy. im sure if they have a 5 day guarantee and a fish dies the sixth day theres nothing that the credit card company can do.
if theres no policy listed then i guess its anyones game?

Most CC companies such as Citibank, American Express will credit you back. That is what the dispute dept. is all about. Whether if its live goods or dry goods.
I took pictures of my dead $300 dollar tang and sent it in with the dispute form filled out to Citibank.
