Hey everyone, I need an algae eating fish, I have a couple of patches of microcaleurpa which I cant get to go away. THe problem is that I already have a bicolor blenny, which has never touched anything green in my whole tank. (thanx little fella) I would like a tang, but my girlfriend is so afraid of ich that she wont bend that way. And finally, I have lost to foxfaces to coral consumption. Yes that is correct, I have a giant elephant ear that has eaten 2 foxfaces. So if that is a route you were considering, sorry.
So any suggestions are more than welcome.
thanx,
Cubman

Any thought to getting rid of your bicolor blenny, and getting a lawnmower blenny? Mine does a gret job at eatting the green stuff.

Try some of the other rabbitfish they consume anything green in my experiance. But if you have a severe algae problem you would benifit from finding and dealing with the source of it.

A Kole tang did a great job in my tank. They are also very hardy as far as tangs go. I had a trigger and puffer with ich and the tang stayed spot free. I only lost him when my tank crashed

Ever since I lost the little fella (along with the rest of my fish) the algea growth in my display has been insane. I can't wait to get another one :)

just remember that nothing is 100% when it comes to the type of fish you get. I have heard stories of some Kole tangs that don't touch an ounce of algea. So when it comes to fish its luck of the draw.

I know it is up to chance, but some fish carry less risk and more certainty than others. Everyone's advice is welcome and I appreciate everyone's input up to this point.
