What do you recommend be the best ballast for a 250 watt HQI bulb?

A magnetic "hqi" ballast (ANSI Code: M80) is the actual spec and recommended ballast for all double ended 250w metal halide used in the aquarium industry. This ballast will get the maximum amount of light output (PAR), run the lamp to it's intended color rendition, and get the maximum amount of spectral life out of it.

The Sunlight Supply Bluewave 3 (single ballast) and Bluewave 7 (dual ballast) use the M80 internal magnetics. Here are links to those on our website:
