Best camera type?

Alright, for all you photo/camera buffs out there, i am photo inept, i have a small digital camera that i cannot take a non-blurred picture of my car, let alone a water filled glass aquarium with. So if you could offer ANY advice on how to take nice pics of my tank and its' inhabitants, it would be greatly appreciated.
