What does everyone thinkthe best camera is under 400 for taking great tank shots and detail shots of corals (like macro shots)??

Sony H2 is a sweet camera around that price. I Have the H1 and love it. Here are some of my macros...

I have the DSC-V3 made by sony and it was $340 shipped! They are discontinued but people still have them around. It takes great photos but I cant seem to find good lenses anywhere like nikons lol

Just want to mention that the Sony DCS-H1 would not white balance under 14k halide lighting no matter what the heck I did so color was always waaaaayyyyy offf! Other then that it was very versitile for all kinds of photography.

Funny, My photos are under Phoenix 14k halides.. Look fine to me. It might have been the camera itself?

:)

I need a camera too. I'm hoping for a small-ish camera since my last digital was rather large and not convenient to carry.

Spankey, did you hav to buy an additional macro lens or did you take those pics with the camera as you bought it?

thanks.

Thanks and yes the camera is perfectly balanced as to what my eyes and others see.

Here are some full tank shots do these look ok?

i have to agree with the Sony DSC H2. I have one and love it. It does have a manuel White balance adjustment and is tricky to figure out.

I'm in a similar situation to the thread starter, though I'm leaning more towards the $300ish range. I'm considering the Sony DSC H1 or H2, and also the Canon IS S2 or S3. Any thoughts on how those cameras compare? All can be had for somewhere between $260 and $340.
