best dip for zoos?

Lugols/tankwater will do nothing to bacteria/fungus.

I wouldn't go mixing them. I don't use TMPCC for zoos, i've had great results with RO/Furan-2.

I don't worry about bacteria or fungus infections. I keep my water clean and parameters stable. I haven't lost any zoa's to infections. I only dip for predators.

so impur, the RO fruan 2 combo has kept you free of predators as well?

JGoslee: im not necc worried about them getting infections, i just don't want to introduce something into my tank that might be on them....

Yes, RO water will kill off the pests.

JGoslee - it only takes 1 infected polyp to change your mind, trust me. I keep my params spot on as well, they never waiver. You can't control other ppls tanks and params, and you certainly cannot control what comes out of the ocean. I was singing the same tune as you up until 90 days ago when i rec'd a frag from a trusted online store. I would rather not play russian roulette with my zoos, i have too much invested.

I've added zoa's with pox and fungus in my tank and they cleared up after a few days. I still think its a matter of water quality. Doing dips with ro water just adds stress and is probaby what is killing the infected zoa's. JMO.

Well, in the wild they sit in rain water for hours on end at low tide. So i doubt it adds that much stress.

I guess you have a one of a kind tank! Good luck.

instead of lugols could you use regular kents iodine solution to make a dip and if so how much should you use? Only reason im asking is i have the regular iodine and not any lugols but if i need to get it or even furan-2 then i will.

some of my frags have been starting to close so i was going to try and dip them to kill off possible nudis. How much iodine solution should i use per say like a gallon of ro water (buffered and brought to temp of coourse)
