Best DSLR + Macro lens setup for under 1k?

Hey everyone, I've been taking photos with my old Nikon d50 and my Samsung Galaxy s5 and I've wanted to upgrade for awhile now. If you were in the market with a budge of under 1k what would you buy?

I've always had trouble with white balance on this camera,

I took a picture of my tank and used that as a preset. I know to fix it all I would need is a white balance card but I'm looking to upgrade camera models.

I'm not really looking to fix the d50 photo quality, this thread is more so on whats the best DSLR + Macro I can get my hands on with my budget.

Since a decent macro cost $500+ or ++, why not get just the lens. Spend the rest, if any, on corals, fish, kids college fund.

I would keep the D50 and just get a nikon 105mm macro that alone is close to 1k.

asking for a lot for 1000.00. keep the camera and spend money on a macro. Nikon 105.. is a fine lens but expensive. Tamron and Sigma make great macro's. I use a Nikon D300 with a Sigma 150mm 2.8. has more reach than the Nikon. it's known as one of the best Macro's out there. I have the older non stabilized version, but you don't need a stabilized macro since you would mount it on a tri-pod.
