Best East Valley LFS?

Just curious to see where you all shop since I'm looking to continue building my reef. Where's the best prices for coral or fish? What about quality of stuff?

IMO/IME ~ Reef Culture, Reef Monsters and Aquarius in that order.
I personally will never buy anything live from Aquarium Arts!

Aquarius for corals and some livestock, rc for livestock and parts, and aa for some parts. Never going to reef monster or the pet shop.

Yay! Let the store bashing begin!

(Sarcasm)

There are many threads on this subject. Everyone likes, or dislikes stores for different reasons. You really should visit the store you are thinking of purchasing from. Check out their quality of livestock, see the conditions of their animals, ask about quarantine procedures. Get a feel from the staff on their knowledge level and customer service. I have read a handful of posts from someone who didn't care for a store because they weren't greeted within 1 minute of entering the store. Should that warrant a negative review? That's up to you. With so many choices in the valley, I would hope that each store is very aware that customers will choose someone else if they blow it on service, advice, or prices.

Good luck on finding your favorite, we have many great stores to choose from!

If you are referring to my post about RC. That was the last straw... first it was the multitude of dead fish in the tanks rotting away. Than it was the fish I bought from them that had Marine Velvet and died in my QT set up in 5 days from purchase date. Followed up by the mass quantity of aptasias in their coral tanks.

For me east valley stores...

Reef Monsters > Aquarius > RC

Exactly my point. To each his own. I happen to love RC. I know what to look for, and what to avoid. Never had a problem, always great service.

Lets just agree to disagree.

Have a happy reef filled day!

I go to the Aquarius first for coral, Carlos is the man. RC for dry goods and their fish selection is almost always the best. Reef monsters is really good when they have stock, I don't know if I time it wrong but their tanks are empty almost everytime I go in, Jorrel<sp? Is also really cool and is good about giving deals. I used to go to AA for salt, but I have now found that other places have it just as cheap.

I have also has Aquarius, RC, and Reef Monsters go out of their way to help when I was in a pinch.

I use Reef Culture for pretty much everything but fish (AquaTouch is my livestock source). Great service and competitive prices, even cheaper than Marine Depot IME.

I don't know what happened to this message but it was supposed to say.
Jorrel, spelling?, is also really cool and is good about giving deals.

Honesty I wasn't looking to bash any stores. I'm really just wondering who's the cheapest more than anything else.

There's a guy who sells stuff out of his van cheap but buy at your own risk.
Anyway, price wise I don't think any one store stands out to me. You might find a deal on one item versus another from store to store. If you buy fish ask the store if they quarantine them first.
I personally like Reef Culture, Reef Monsters, & Aquatouch. I recommend going to some of the stores near you & checking them out in person.

Thats like making a post that asks... WHOSE THE BEST PRESIDENT?

I'll backup ReefMonsters because they work great deals and minimize their overhead to keep prices low. Reef Culture makes me hate the hobby because of its unaffordable prices. Aquarium arts is about volume and biznaassss. They all get their stuff from the same suppliers and wholesalers- if you think stores quarantine you are kidding yourself. Nobody has the time and manpower to move that amount of livestock and qt in any way that will adequately protect it- or you for that matter.
