Aside from a clown, I'd really like some interesting fish and I don't really mind the price involved. Weve had a few different set ups over the years and I like the smaller fish with BIG personalities but I really want them to be coral safe.

How about one of these? They stay small. Hi Fin Red Banded Goby, and you could even add a pistol shrimp if you wanted.

I will suggest you a Mini Dart Goby(Aioliops megastigma) or a Court Jester Goby (Amblygobius rainfordi).....

Candy cane pistol shrimp and yasha gobies look great together.I would get a pair of yashas and two shrimp.

A Sailfin or Hippo Tang, of course...

Any small perching fish like gobies or blennies are great for nano setups. You might also post your question in the "Nano Reefs" section.

Also Red Sea mimic blenny and Greenbanded goby. Both are available captive bred from ORA.

Careful with the Mimic Blenny. I have first hand experience of it decimating some SPS, including, birdsnest, encrusting montis, and various acros.

I now have my ORA Red Sea Mimic Blenny in a zoa + LPS tank with no coral nipping.

I have read other reefers reporting similar findings however, some others report no SPS nipping.

as always, it comes down to the individual fish.

with all that said, a tailspot blenny is a gland slam choice! mine is loaded with personality!
