Hey all,
Without dragging you all through the nitty-gritty of why, I am re-modelling my system to remove my skimmer and rely on macro algae for nutrient removal. I've already debated the pro's and con's of this move, but my question now is:
What is best - (relatively) slow flow through the macro algae sump, or rapid flow? The tank is 8x2x2 and the sump is 44"x18"x15" (LxWxH) of which 36"x18"x15" is for the macro.
Recommended flow rate for optimum filteration?
