I'm setting up a marineland wide body 300 and am presently debating how to set up the internal circulation. On my 210 I've got a closed loop with a hammerhead pump comming out of a manifold and also have a tunze wavebox. I know the best flow pattern is down the back, across the bottom from back to front, up the front glass and then across the top from front to back and to the overflows. I've been debating on whether to use internal tunze's or vorteck units but I still don't like the sight of the unit's in the tank but will give in if I can get better flow pattern.
I was planning on using the hanmmerhead and returning it through 5 1" sea swirls with the 3 on the back side of the tank outputting on the sandbed outputting toward the front of the tank and the other two in the front flowing back across the top.
Anyone else have a better idea???
