Sometimes you are better off hitting up fellow reefers when visiting an area. That's what I do whenever I travel.

I shop at both of these stores. I can tell you that Coral Reef Has a lot of nice products. The staff there have always been very helpful to me and we like the service. This is a salt only set up, therefore I lean more toward them. I have never had a bad experience in this store.

The Aquarium likewise has a very nice set up. As far as store quality the Aquarium has a very nice display of both Salt, Fresh and pond displays. I've not had a bad experience in this store.

The nice thing about these two stores is they are very close to each other, making it possible to visit them both before making a purchase. Close enough to travel back and forth. Im very happy that they are both available.

The only negative I have to say is the time they are open and its only because I live an hour from them. By the time I get off work im in a big rush to get to them and it stresses me out in the traffic.

On a very positive note we were visiting The Coral Reef one Saturday and got there right at closing. The guys were willing to stay open as long as me and my wife wanted to shop! Thats service. I would say that if we called ahead and told them we were coming they would do the same.

Coral reef has great customer service and a great selection of nicer corals. The frag tank is presently a little overrun, but you can occasionally find a decent addition to your tank. I found a nice blue/purple mushroom in there that I did not have before. One is all you need to get 4 in a month...

If you go to Aquarium and have questions, look for Michael -- he is very helpful. I haven't had to ask a lot of questions in a while until yesterady, but I went to Aquarium and spoke with Michael and he gave me some good advice on setting up my freshwater planted tank. Some of the others are helpful, too, but I've had bad experiences with a couple of them. And don't bother asking for special orders. I've had nothing but grief on that. They won't hold items for you unless you pay in advance (wish I would have know that before I waited a couple of months for my bumblebee gobies to come in, got a call that they were there, and went over that afternoon to find them sold).

That would bum me out to no end. I think thats what I like about Coral Reef. I believe if I had something on Special order there they would know it. There is something to be said about a place when you walk in they know you and are glad to see you.

Ill say this too, They offered to frag me a piece if I saw something I wanted. I didnt have to ask. I didnt take them up on it but it was very nice to have the offer.

I am bummed about being such a noob in the industry. I picked up a very nice nuclar green zoa group of about 8 to 10 pollups that were not very stable. Because I dont know a lot about what im doing I dont think i have one left now thats doing well because its been moved by my arrow crab who is getting on my nerves very bad or my turbos that keep bulldozing them off the ledge where i put them. They are broke apart now and pretty much closed up and down to maybe 3 or 4. Ive learned a few lessons. The first mushroom I got is still not doing well and is stuck in a small hole in the rock. I can only hope it develops. Its wedged in that sucker and isnt coming out but I had to wrestle with it a few times. The next one I got that came off the rock when I got it in the tank after coming out of the hole i put it in I cut it into three pieces and put it in some rubble in a plastic water bottle bottom. Now i have 3 :D Im hoping that this will be my first sucessful frag and first try.

Sorry to ramble

No problem. Sounds like you need some Super Glue gel and some epoxy. And a rubber band for your future mushrooms. :)

I have plenty of Nuc Greens... If you lose all yours, get your tank stable and then shoot me a PM... :D
