Best LFS For Quality Marine Fish?

Hi!

I live in Central Florida (Clermont) and was wondering everyone's opinion as the best shop to find quality marine fish?

Specifically, I am looking for a spotted mandarin to help rid my tank of flat worms!

Thanks!
Cindy

Have you tried using flatworm exit?

I would not say a mandarin is necessarily the best solution for flatworms. I think if you are going to try a natural approach to ridding flatworms, look into a coris wrasse, increase the flow in your tank, and feed less.

Do you have a skimmer? If so which one.

I have battled flatworms many times lately and could offer some good help that is better than purchasing a mandarin.

I have a Berlin skimmer (25-250 gals). Have heard of flatworm exit but have hesitated using it for fear of harming my corals and inverts.

I have had problems with wrasse's flipping out of my tank? Anyone else?

I have used flatworm exit with positive results. Just follow the directions. If you have a lot of worms, siphon as many as possible before treating.

Eggcrate.. Personally, I'd never run an open top tank without it. All fish have a possibility of jumping.

As long as you follow the flatworm exit directions, you should be fine. I have used it more than 10 times without a problem. The thing is, like andy mentioned, siphon out as many as possible before dosing. AND MAKE SURE TO HAVE WATER READY for a waterchange.

Mandarins do not really feast on flatworms. They MAY pick at them, but they can not survive on flatworms alone. So unless you have a very very high population of copepods and isopods, the mandarin will starve. I know there are some exceptions to this, but this is the general rule.

Even the wrasses are a hit or miss, I have a coris wrasse who could care less if there are flat worms or not. He prefers mysis over anything. lol

From what I understand, a sixline wrasse would be alot better than a coris or a mandarin. Just my two cents. My sixline would make a meal out of flatworms, but my green coris didn't even look at them.
