The new BNARC club is looking at making a trip Chicago to see the best LFS's up there.

What do you guys at CMAS think is worth making a 3 hour drive for?

Thanks

Agree with Rod's and Ocean's Floor... also Chicago Aquatic House in Orland Park is really good.

Just FYI, if you go to the one in Orland, it shares the same building as Go Fish Aquariums (www.gofishaquariums.com, if you need that for directions.) I go there quite often, and they have a pretty nice selection, and they good people.

Aquatic Reef in West Dundee. Phone # is (847)426-5003. Ask for Sherwin or Noel. If you can make it for the midnight madness tomorrow night from 9 pm to midnight, that would be great. Trust me call them, it doesn't hurt.

Rod's Reef
Oceans Floor
Sea Schorr
Deep Reef Aquatics

What he said...and
Sho Tank
Coral Paradise

Old Town is pricey but a cool store for fish, and is in a great location to do other things outside of fish in Chicago...

I agree, pricey but awesome selection... http://oldtownaquarium.com/ I went to the new Sea Schorr for the first time last weekend, and I love the unique way to view the corals, great store.

I think the city has some good stores but I think you get a much better value in the burbs. Old Town is a great looking store but it's expensive, which is understandable in that neighborhood. Rent has to be outrageous.

Thanks for the help guys, out of all the stores listed who has good prices and a great selection?

It depends on what your looking for
Rods is GREAT for Corals sps&Zoas but not many fish
Ocean floor (been there once the day after a big sale)Great selection on fish and corals
the only other store listed I have been to is Go Fish its a nice store but doesnt compare to the others IMHO and I am less than a mile from there

Most stores are great. However,
if you are looking for Corals (rare SPS and/or zoos). Here's my preferences:

Rod's Reef
Aquatic Reef
Sharky's Reef
