Best Live Rock for Large Tank

I find that the really big pieces are sometimes hard to get into and arrange inside the tank but others may disagree on this. The biggest pieces of my rock are maybe 12-18" across. I used black zip ties to attach the base pieces together and it has worked just fine for me.

Find a store that can/is willing to special order large pieces of fiji. Specify exactly what you are looking for and they can order it for you.

You might consider making some aragocrete rock as well...

just tell them you want to buy rocks that fit one to a box. if it fits two to a box you dont want it.

You can do a lot with some creative aquascaping......

Theres not a rock there over about 15lbs.....but its a single structure of about 100lbs.

Base rock plus a little live rock is a LOT cheaper for a large tank, and it starts to look pretty good over time!

My 180 at the beginning, and about three months later (not bad for a short period I think):

must agree with RokleM, piccani base rock is super lite, big and in most cases $2.00 a pound ship to you

buy a couple of small ones from other reefers, or borrow to seed and save tons of money
