Best magnet cleaner

I have a JBJ magnet cleaner, I think it worked a lot better on my smaller tank. My glass 150 just doesnt seem to get cleaned by it.
Who makes the best magnet holder? Tunze has one and it's not priced too bad but it says something about being connected by strtings? MD has some oak ones that I think are way over priced. Then there's good ol mag float, the 350 model is only $20.

I like the Mag-float for glass, but not for acrylic.
I use them on both of my nanos and the 40 with NO problems.
Just stay FAR away from the substrate.

Heh, unfortunately, the overpriced ones you've mentioned on MD's site are the good ones. Algae Free brand. Those things do an awesome job.

I use the AM brand. Work very good for me.

For $70 I think it should also clean my living room.
So you guys honestly say that the Algae Free model is worth 350% more money?

Yeah man, I hear ya. $70 for two pieces of magnets is pretty far out.

What really works for me is the Kent AquaMop connected to their 24" pole. I found it to be a lot easier for me to use than dragging a powerful magnet around the glass. Then I just attach their scraper onto it to scrape off corraline.

My hood is so maxed out with luminarc refelctors and VHO actinics that I dont have the room needed to stick a long scraper into the tank convieniently. Looks like its the $70 option for me.

you should check out mighty magnets. they have replacable peices for inside and outside the glass. works greats, warning be careful with fingers. this thing is in the 200.00 range works like a champ. i would never use any of the cheap ones again

$200?? bwahahahahahahahahaha
If I'm going to spend $200 on a magnet, it better be on the back of a Triad speker.

Dave, I think I'll try the mag float one if it worked well on the same tank. $20 is sounding better and better. I blow way too much cash on cool things for my tank. Until I can try one out, I dont need to waste stupid money on a magnet cleaner.

but your time cleaning the glass with a cheapy cleaner will take more time to go back and forth.

With a $50 more, you will finish way faster. Time cost money!
