Largest version is rated for 3/4" to 1" thick glass or acrylic. I have seen this on my friends tank and I like the design and you won't even notice if they are tucked on the side of the glass

Are you referring to flipper or tunze?

If the mighty magnet is good I'm curious if the odds are what make it good or the magnet itself

got a tunze strong on 3/4 in glass, just perform awesomely. I never pass twice at same place cause some algae left. No fear of having sand stuck between glass and magnet cause its actually floating on the glass with a gap of around 1/16in, and only the scrapper are touching. And it comes with a plastic scrapper safe on acrylics.
