Best Mantis Bait?

have been trying unsuccessfully to catch my Mantis(or mantises) in the ol' inverted bottle trap - using shrimp meat.

Each morning, only hermits and nass snails.

Any ideas what might work better? I was thinking crab or clam meat?

have you tried squid? if you're having trouble finding it, I can bring some up the club meeting on the 19th.

Yup - its me. I keep missing Krux... he has offered to donate some from the restaurant also - our schedules are just not quite in synch.

I know he has squid/clam/crab avail - and wondering which to try first? Maybe just a cocktail combo of all 3?

Now that I am starting to drool over Clams (no thanks to James) ... I have gotten more motivated to catch it.

Will let you know if I can't find any before the 19th - plan on seeing/meeting everyone there.
